Unlocking the Value of Japanese Wagyu: A Special Industry Event in Washington D.C.

On October 20, 2025, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host a unique event at the Embassy of Japan’s Old Residence in Washington D.C., with the support of the Embassy. This exclusive gathering will bring together meat professionals, chefs, and retailers to explore the untapped potential of Japanese A5 Wagyu, focusing on secondary cuts beyond the well-known ribeye, tenderloin, and striploin.

Guided by Industry Experts:

  • Dai Moriya, Founder of WagyuMan
  • Nick Solares, Chief Marketing Officer, Pat La Frieda Meat Purveyors

Together, they will lead a tasting and discussion on how to utilize and market the more economical cuts of A5 Wagyu—offering insights into flavor, preparation, and consumer appeal.

  • 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Presentation & Business Networking Session

Participation Guidelines:

While this event is primarily by invitation from Pat La Frieda, chefs and butcher shops interested in newly introducing Japanese Wagyu are welcome to apply.
